The run-off isn’t over just yet.
Late into the night, only 75% of the precincts across Northwest Georgia had posted their results to the Secretary of State’s website for the contest between Marjorie Greene and Dr. John Cowan.
Greene held a lead over Cowan heading into midnight with one precinct left in Floyd County still out, several in Chattooga and all of Whitfield based on the Elections results available online as of 12:40 a.m.
38,527 votes had so far been cast for Greene, and 29,040 for Cowan.

As of 9:42 p.m., all 100% of the precincts in the District 31 race have reported in, and Jason Anavitarte has taken the victory in the primary run-off.
With just a margin of 218 votes across Paulding, Polk and Haralson counties, Anavitarte took a win over Boyd Austin in the GOP race. The final tally in the race was 10,563 to 10,345.
Paulding voters went 5,575 for Anavitarte to 5,145 for Austin, and Haralson went 3,276 for Austin to 2,712 for Anavitarte.
Polk’s tally ended 2,276 to 1,936 voters in favor of Anavitarte.
The race between Marjorie Greene and Dr. John Cowan widened with 66.67% of precincts reporting, up 33,114 to 22,297 votes across Northwest Georgia.
An update will be posted again when full results are in for the 14th district congressional race.

With a big turnout on voting day and previous to that in absentee and early voting, the results got done fast at the Polk County Board of Elections, and locally results are available though district-wide the contests continue.
Jason Anavitarte and Marjorie Greene both won in their primary run-off races in Polk County with good margins of victory, but the overall contests won’t be called until Paulding and Haralson precincts weigh in for the District 31 race, and the Congressional race for the 14th district concludes.
Polls in Floyd County were just closing after reports of issues at precincts early on, and time was extended on the day to give more people time to cast a ballot.
Anavitarte took Polk County precincts 2,276 votes to 1,936 votes over Boyd Austin in the District 31 race. Greene won locally 2,293 to 1,936 votes over Dr. John Cowan of Rome.
As of 9 p.m., Greene held a districtwide lead of 30,772 to 21,088 votes with 33.33% of the precincts reporting in Northwest Georgia.
In the District 31 race overall, Anavitarte held a 10,213 lead over Austin with 9,908 votes with only 33.33% of the precincts reporting in so far.
2,123 voters cast a ballot on election day in Polk County, which officials reported that along with early voting and absentee ballots combined marked a new record for run-off race participation locally. Advanced voting ended with 1,054 in person, and another 1,060 by mail bringing the overall total of ballots cast to 4,237 for the run-off.

Voting came to a close at 7 p.m. and the ballots have begun to be counted in Polk County, and early results have Marjorie Greene and Jason Anavitarte with early leads.
Board of Elections results forwarded along to Polk.Today show Greene up 1097 to 1017 over Dr. John Cowan in early voting and absentee ballots, and Anavitarte up 1137 to 961 over Boyd Austin in the two races featured on the run-off ballot today.
Greene leads Cowan locally in the 14th District Congressional race, and Anavitarte starts ahead of Austin in the District 31 race.
