A collision on Wednesday night ended with one driver heading to the hospital with minor injuries and another cited for failure to yield, according to Rockmart Police reports.

The RPD responded to the intersection of Highway 101 and Nathan Dean Parkway on Wednesday night, September 11, at 10:48 p.m. when a Tesla Model Y turning left from Highway 101 onto Hwy. 278 ran into a 1996 Ford truck.

The truck rolled when it was struck and landed on its right side.

Rockmart Police spoke to both drivers and determined that the driver of the Tesla was responsible for the wreck after they attempted to turn on a flashing yellow while the driver of the truck had a green light.

The Tesla driver was cited for failure to yield.

Alone in the truck, the driver of the Ford was pulled out and transported to Atrium Health Floyd Polk Medical Center be checked out by medical personnel after reports of minor injuries, per the Rockmart Police report on the wreck.
