Local officials, the chamber and owners of El Coyote celebrated on Monday afternoon as the restaurant grabbed the giant scissors and made their move to downtown Rockmart official.

El Coyote – previously located on North Piedmont Avenue next door to Family Dollar – began their move over to the former Knuckleheads on West Elm Street earlier this year, but finished up with the work over the summer.

Then it was a matter of waiting for paperwork to be finalized, and now the restaurant is open for business.

Monday’s grand opening celebration brought together family, friends, employees and many more from El Coyote, owned and operated by German Alegria.

Some finishing touches on El Coyote were finished up with new signage and decoration going up around the 217 W. Elm St. location before the grand opening celebration on Monday.

The celebration at the new location came just over two years from the day that El Coyote opened at the former Pizza Depot in Rockmart in 2022.
