BASKETBALL: Lady Bulldogs finish out their season on the road in region tourney play

In a game that didn’t see a lot of scoring, the Cedartown Lady Bulldogs wrapped up their season with only a few wins under their belt for the 2021-22 campaign.

Injuries and youth hampered the chances for the Lady Bulldogs to make it far in this year’s campaign for a playoff spot, and with the close of their time in the region playoffs Cedartown ends at 4-17 on the year.

They faced Central Carroll on Monday in region tournament play and fell 30-18 to the Lady Lions.

That came off a hard make-up game to finish the regular season on the road last week when the Lady Bulldogs traveled to play the Dragonettes at Pickens County in a 73-32 loss.

Despite the finish in the tournament, Cedartown in region play for the regular season still finished ahead of Ridgeland and Southeast Whitfield in fifth place in the standings with a 3-9 record in 7-AAAA.

Pickens finished the regular season in first, followed by Northwest Whitfield, Heritage and Central rounding out the top spots.

The Lady Bulldogs got their four wins on the year in an opener against Cartersville, then a win over Ridgeland and two wins over Southeast Whitfield in region play.
