REPORT: Dalton woman booked for drug possession, DUI charges

Sally Isabel Bryan

A Dalton woman was booked and later released from custody after being arrested late on Saturday night during a DUI stop in Aragon, per a Polk County Police report.

Sally Isabel Bryan, 36, of a Dalton address, was booked early on Sunday morning, July 21 after she was charged with DUI late Saturday night, July 20.

Bryan was pulled over in the area of Highway 101 and Oak Street in Aragon at 11 p.m. after 911 received a call about a potential drunk driver. Police spotted Bryan behind the wheel when she swerved several times, almost running off the road at one point before jerking back into the lane each time.

PCPD noted that Bryan immediately began to cry at the beginning of the traffic stop and asked to be allowed to leave, and when asked if she had been drinking noted it was “a long time ago.”

Police noted that she appeared intoxicated, and she was asked to do field sobriety tests which she did not pass.

During a search of her car, police found a bag of marijuana on the floor, plus joints in a cigarette pack and a container that had blue pills inside later identified as Klonopin and Oxycodone.

She later admitted she knew she had the pills and marijuana in her possession, and noted that the pills were medication following a dental procedure.

Police charged Bryan with felonies for possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance, and misdemeanors for marijuana possession, DUI and failure to maintain lane.

Bryan was later released on an $8,500 bond.
