The Cedartown Lady Bulldogs are heading into the second round of the Class 4A state playoffs today, making a trip down to Cairo, Georgia to play against the Lady Syrupmakers in the Sweet 16.
Cedartown – coming into the games after a sweep of the Hampton Lady Hornets in the first round – will make the trip to nearly five-hour trip south to Cairo High School to play in the second round against the 15-10 Lady Syrupmakers.
Cairo finished third in Region 1-AAAA with a 9-5 record.
They got into the second round after sweeps of Jenkins in the first round 15-3 and 7-1.

In other region news, Central Carroll faces Bainbridge at home, Heritage-Catoosa heads to Thomas CC, and Northwest Whitfield travels to Islands in second round games today through Thursday.
