FOOTBALL: Bulldogs celebrate Homecoming with blowout of Ridgeland

Cedartown continues domination of 7-AAAA

The Cedartown Bulldogs won’t be stopped this season, and are on their way toward another region title after another blowout win of a 7-AAAA opponent on Homecoming night at the Doc.

Ridgeland didn’t stand a chance after the Bulldogs put up 50 unanswered points in the first half and the young kids gave up a late fourth-quarter touchdown with a running clock to finish off the blowout of the Panthers 50-6.

Harlem Diamond stood out once again for the second week in a row – and took the Play of the Week for the highlight reel above – with a three-touchdown, 105-yard performance just in the first half and didn’t have to touch the ball at all in the second half. Two of the three scores were for 40+ yards on the night.

Add to that a Reece Tanner to Demario Sims TD to open the scoring in the first quarter, Patrick Gardner, Khamarion Davis, and Jaquaveon Price all getting touchdowns as well, and the Bulldogs were able to roll to their victory with a safety added to the scoreboard as well thanks to an intentional grounding call against Ridgeland’s Judd Anderson throwing it out of the end zone to avoid a sack.

The Bulldogs now control Region 7-AAAA and haven’t suffered any major setbacks since the Calhoun game, on a 3-game run since starting region play against Pickens.

Cedartown has a bye week for October 22 before the travel to face Central Carroll on Oct. 29, then host Heritage-Catoosa on Nov. 5 for the final home and regular game of the season.
