A juvenile suspect was taken into custody today after a string of vehicles were broken into on Monday night and early Tuesday morning, according to Polk County Police.
Chief Kiki Evans reported that charges are being filed against the 13-year-old suspect, who entered unlocked vehicles and took items out in the Prior Station Road area.
Police began searching for a suspect this morning and we’re set to stage a late night sting operation, but the teen whose name is not yet being released was caught earlier this afternoon.
Additional details will be made available when the investigation is completed, Evans said.
The Polk County Police encourages everyone to lock their vehicle doors no matter what location they or in, or time of day they are parked to avoid theft of valuable items or the vehicle itself.
