A Buchanan man was booked into custody on Friday and remains in the Polk County Jail after being found with a firearm in his possession while being a convicted felon, according to reports.
Polk County Police arrested Robby Chad Loudermilk, 39, of a Buchanan address, was stopped at Walmart in Cedartown after he was spotted crossing the center line during a turn on Friday night and then went past the balk line when stopped in the turning lane.
Officers also were concerned since Loudermilk’s vehicle had no rear bumper or driver side mirror.
PCPD stopped the truck at Walmart, and began to question Loudermilk about his status. He told officers he was off of probation as of 2023, but due to his “nervous behavior” police got him out of his vehicle and searched inside.
Loudermilk was found in possession of a .410 gauge shotgun, and due to his status as a convicted felon was taken into custody without further incident.
He remained in the Polk County Jail on a felony charge of possession of a firearm by convicted felon or first offender.
