Polk County Emergency Management Agency is looking for dedicated volunteers to support the local EMA program. There are many ways to get involved especially before a disaster occurs.
The main way you can get involved in Polk County is through the local Community Emergency Response Team (CERT).
The CERT program educates individuals about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations.
Additionally, members of the CERT program support local first responders in some disaster operations.
For those interested you can go to our website at ema.polkga.org/cert and submit an application or you can reach out to ema@polkga.org or contact the office at (770) 748-3439.
