Polk County Police caught a pair red-handed with drugs in a residence after they came to follow-up on a separate theft investigation, according to reports filed earlier this week.
Jodi Michelle Mason, 45, and Ashley Anne Myers, 36, both of a Rockmart address, were arrested after a detective and officers came to their McDowell Road residence to discuss an active case with the pair.
Per the report, Mason was speaking with the detective and after a while went inside to charge her phone. The detective found a pill bottle inside for another individual and Mason claimed the owner of the bottle had left it there before for Myers.
One of the officers on scene ran Myers name through the state database and found she had warrants for her arrest, and they took her into custody without further incident.
Police also found suboxone patches on a side table near Mason, and she claimed she got the prescription from a doctor for the patches and they were filled via Walmart. Further follow-up found the statements she made to be false, per the report.
Officers took Mason into custody as well, and then got a search warrant for the residence.
A third resident told police where they could find a pipe used for smoking methamphetamine, and a hypodermic needle.
Myers was booked into jail on the failure to appear felony warrant and a misdemeanor charge of possession and use of drug related objects, and remained in custody on a $1,000 bond.
Mason remains in custody on a $6,000 bond. She was charged with a felony for possession of a Schedule III controlled substance and a misdemeanor charge of drugs not in original container.
