CPD: Man jailed after Huddle House encounter with police, tried to toss contraband

A Cedartown man was booked into custody this past Friday after he attempted to toss his drugs and paraphernalia when encountering officers in the Huddle House parking lot, according to reports.

Per officials at CPD, reports stated that 911 received a call that a man later identified as Carlos Laron Stallings, 46, was looking through cars in the parking lot in area around Huddle House on East Avenue near the intersection with North Main Street. There were no immediate reports of break-ins from the report.

Officers arrived on scene and when Stallings approached Cedartown Police, he attempted to throw down the drugs he had on them and speak to officers in the Huddle House parking lot.

Police saw him try to dump the drugs and recovered them after taking him into custody without any further incident, reports stated.

Stallings was booked into the Polk County Jail and remained there as of this posting on a $6,000 bond for felony charges of possession of cocaine and tampering with evidence, and a misdemeanor charge on possession and use of drug-related objects.
