
A Cave Spring man who spent longer at the gas pumps than needed ultimately was stopped by officers for his suspicious behavior, and then was taken into custody on a warrant and driving charges.
According to Polk County Police reports, they arrested Jordan Winn Bryan, 40, of a Cave Spring address on Friday, December 1 around 1:30 a.m. on charges for driving while license suspended or revoked and failure to maintain lane. He additionally had a warrant out for his arrest in Columbia County.
Police were called out to a store by officers when Bryant was reported to be “acting suspiciously” after only pumping $2 in gas, and then walked around “the entire duration he was there.”
When officers arrived at the store, Bryant left in a hurry in his 2004 Nissan Frontier from the gas station and police followed him to the intersection of East Avenue and South College Street, making a traffic stop at Wissahickon and Chestnut streets.
Police had run his tags when they got behind his truck and found he was driving without a license, a canceled registration and no insurance. They found his license had been suspended six times in the span of the past two years.
He was taken into custody without incident. A third party came to pick up the dog that Bryant had with him in the truck.
Bryant was later released from jail on a $2,300 bond.
