The Northwest Georgia Drug Task Force wrapped up an investigation that began last month that nabbed three involved in methamphetamine trafficking, according to reports.
Joshua Glenn Gonzales, 32, of an Aragon address, along with Amber Dee Montayne, 30, of a Dallas address and Meggan Dawn Sego, 32 of a Rockmart address, were all booked into the Polk County Jail over the past weeks as the Northwest Georgia Drug Task Force took out warrants for their arrest on multiple drug-related charges.
NWGA DTF Commander Steven Sweatt reported that agents became aware the trio were involved in methamphetamine sales and were able to infiltrate the group and begin purchasing drugs in increasing amounts.
The investigation came to an abrupt end when one of the group decided to offer up additional meth and took cash for the product, but never delivered. The DTF then took out warrants for their arrest, according to Sweatt.
Gonzales was initially booked on November 8 on a parole violation charge, but also faces charges while he remains in custody for felonies for use of a communication facility in committing or facilitating a felony act and attempt or conspiracy to violate Georgia controlled substance act.
Montayne was arrested on Wednesday on multiple charges and booked into the Polk County Jail where she remained with bond denied. She was charged with felonies for three counts of use of a communication facility in committing or facilitating a felony act, three counts of attempt or conspiracy to violate Georgia controlled substance act, two counts of manufacture/deliver/distribute/administer/sell/possess with intent to distribute controlled substance, possession of methamphetamine and theft by conversion.
Sego was taken into custody on Thursday and booked with felonies for use of a communication facility in committing or facilitating a felony act, attempt or conspiracy to violate Georgia controlled substance act, possession of methamphetamine, sale of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine with intent and trafficking in cocaine, illegal drugs, marijuana or methamphetamine.
