A Lindale man remained in jail with a bond set on Tuesday after he was charged with child molestation from an incident reported recently.
Cedartown Police took out warrants for the arrest of Thomas Lopez Castro, 27, of a Lindale address, on a single charge of felony child molestation.
He remains in custody at the Polk County Jail on a $10,000 bond.
Police Chief Jamie Newsome reported that the case stems from a victim report going back several years. The incident occurred in Cedartown while the victim was 10-years-old, Newsome said.
“The case went to our detectives and we investigated and found enough information to find probable cause to seek charges against him,” Newsome said.
Castro was booked into jail on Monday, August 14.
