A man reported to have been speeding around town and laying drag on quiet streets late at night in Cedartown was arrested by officers and found to have drugs and a firearm in his Dodge Charger, according to Cedartown Police reports.
Officers not long after midnight on July 29 caught up with Jashadd Tymeer Woodall, 22, of a Rome-area address after reports came in that he was laying drag near the bridge on College Street. Police ultimately found the vehicle at the corner of West Avenue and Main Street, and pulled Woodall over at Main Street and Lakeview Drive.
Several more officers arrived at the scene as well and both Woodall and a passenger were asked to step out of the car after the report stated that marijuana could be smelled coming from inside.
When police searched the car, they found a “small amount of suspected marijuana” and THC gummies. Officers also found a 9mm Canik Mod.2 handgun in the trunk.
Woodall took responsibility for all the items and he was taken into custody without further incident.
Though officers destroyed the marijuana, the gummies and handgun were placed in evidence.
Woodall was released from jail on an $8,000 bond on felony charges of possession of a firearm or knife during the commission of or attempt to commit certain felonies, possession of a Schedule I controlled substance and a misdemeanor charge of laying drag.
