The Rockmart City Council held a special session on Thursday evening, June 29, 2023 when they gathered to decide whether to approve budgets put forth by administration for the 2024 Fiscal Year.

Those budgets are separated into two categories: capital expenditures and in general fund for operations and management, and both were approved unanimously. The city also approved fee schedules for the 2024 Fiscal Year (expect an increase in water/sewer/garbage bills, more to come on that later) and a lease agreement for vehicles.

City Councilmembers in the budget for FY 2024 did increase pay for employees by just over 5% as a cost-of-living increase.
