SOFTBALL: Lady Bulldogs celebrate Senior Night sweep of Southeast Whitfield

The Cedartown High School softball senior class got a clean sweep of a region opponent with their third and final game of a series against Southeast Whitfield on Wednesday, and also took time out to celebrate Senior Night to round out their win over the Lady Raiders.

After posting a 9-1 and 8-0 win on the road on Tuesday against Southeast Whitfield, Cedartown returned home on Wednesday to round out play against the Lady Raiders and took another 9-1 victory to celebrate Senior Night.

The Lady Bulldogs wrapped up Senior Night play in six innings with the win, giving opportunities for big at-bats on the afternoon. Carlie Holland went 2-3 at the plate and put in an RBI and scored twice, Alexas Poole went 2-4 with two RBI and two runs score, and Reagan Peek put in a 2-4 performance with two RBIs and two runs scored.



Ava Allred went 1-2 and also got 2 RBIs on the day, and Emma Arp took the win from the pitcher’s circle with a six-inning performance and got two strikeouts, a hit, a walk and an error against her.

Holland, Roslyn Blankenship, Allred, Poole and Peek were all honored during the final game of the series with Southeast alongside their families as the regular season is winding down.

The 15-8 Lady Bulldogs (9-6 in region 7-AAAA currently) have a few games left before wrapping up the regular season, including a Saturday match-up at home against Cartersville, a trip to Bremen on Monday, and then hosting Haralson County on Oct. 3 before one more region foe, Northwest Whitfield on the calendar on Oct. 6 and Oct. 8.

Cedartown currently sits third in region play.
