POLICE: Two jailed in traffic stop after suspect with warrant spotted by officers

A traffic stop in Rockmart ended with an arrest on Thursday morning after police spotted a man in the passenger seat they knew had warrants, according to reports.

Brandon Stephens, 34, and Amy Nichole Crumley, 38, both of Aragon addresses, were taken into custody after being pulled over around 8:15 a.m. at the intersection of Piedmont Avenue and Goodyear Avenue on Thursday, May 4.

Per the report, police were patrolling and pulled the pair over in Hyundai Tiburon when they noticed Stephens riding as a passenger in the car from “a previous encounter.”

Both were being held with bond set as of this posting.

Stephens was charged with a felony for fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, and misdemeanors for reckless driving, operating a motor vehicle without registration of valid license place and obstructing law enforcement officers. His bond was set at $6,000.

Crumley faced more serious charges and remained in custody on a $15,000 bond. Per booking information online, she faces felony charges of hindering apprehension or punishment of criminal, possession of methamphetamine, possession of tools for commission of a crime, giving inmates liquor, drugs, weapons, etc., without consent of warden and tampering with evidence.
