Gotta love them Dawgs!
That’s the feeling of Coach Chris McKelvey, local physical education teacher at Cherokee Elementary and personality on WGAA’s Pregame show during the football season. (Among a lot of the things he’s done throughout the years…)
He went out to the yard at his home in western Polk County earlier in the week and got out the red, white and black paint to show his love for the Dawgs.
McKelvey painted the Georgia logo and added “2021” and “2022” on each side at the top, and “Back 2 Back” at the bottom.
The Georgia Bulldogs won their second championship in a row on Monday night in Los Angeles after topping the Texas Christian University Horned Frogs in a 65-7 rout.
Georgia capped off the 2021 season with their first title since 1980 in a win over Alabama in a rematch game.
This year, the Bulldogs went undefeated in their campaign to repeat, a feat that has only been accomplished in the past decades by Alabama and the University of Southern California.
Fortunately for McKelvey, the paint held up on his Bulldogs tribute after stormy weather pushed through Polk County on Thursday afternoon.
