Originally scheduled to retire on December 31st, Judge Terry Wheeler has moved his retirement date back to November 10th.

With the recent change of status of Aragon’s Chief of Police, (Brad Loyd), the position of Chief became vacant.

Wheeler, a certified police officer with over twenty years of law enforcement service, including seven and a half years as Chief of Police in Bartow County, has agreed to stay with the city for up to three additional months as “Chief of Police” to give the Mayor and Council an opportunity to take applications, interview and hire a permanent Chief.

Chief Wheeler has been with the City of Aragon for over twenty years. Prior to that, he had many years in management and administrative positions, including three and a half years as City Manager.

Chief Wheeler encourages anyone needing assistance, has questions, problems or complaints to stop by Aragon’s City Hall, or give him or Sgt. John Tortoso a call, as he and his officers stand ready to assist.
