Bulldog Nation is being asked to come together in the next days to help out a family who lost their possessions in an unexpected accident on Thursday evening.
WGAA Radio noted during their Coaches show this evening ahead of the start of the Cedartown at Calhoun game that donations for the Neal family are being accepted after they lost their home to the explosion on Thursday evening.
Taidji Neal is among the family members who are starting the long road to recovery, and Head Coach Jamie Abrams asked the community to bring any donations for the family to Cedartown High School’s front office to be distributed, or to call to get information about making donations of any kind to help the family out.
The Neal home near the intersection of Vines and Chestnut Streets in Cedartown was severely damaged by an explosion while workers were involved in home renovations.
No family members were hurt in the explosion since they weren’t home at the time, but at least one worker was seriously injured enough to require an airlift by helicopter to receive treatment at an area hospital.
Polk Today sought an update from Cedartown City officials about updates on the explosion, but none were yet forthcoming by this evening communicated directly.
