Make sure to stop by either the Kroger in Cedartown or the Walmart in Rockmart this weekend and give to help the Ingram family in their time of need after a near-tragic loss last weekend in Alabama.
The Polk County Volunteer Fire Department is asking the public to “Fill the Boot for Briggs” on Saturday and Sunday in either Rockmart or Cedartown.
Volunteers will be out on Saturday at the Walmart in Rockmart from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Kroger in Cedartown from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.
“This fundraiser is to help Captain Josh Ingram and his family of the Polk County Fire Department with money for medical and other expenses. Lamar’s Trail Shop located at 2463 Cedartown Highway in Rockmart is supporting the raffle at no cost to the fire department with a mystery item,” a release from the department said.
They explained the help is coming for Captain Ingram’s family after he saved his two-year-old son on Sunday, July 17 across the state line on Lake Martin in Alabama.
Ingram pulled his son from the water and performed CPR for more than 30 minutes until he was flown to University of Alabama at Birmingham Children’s Hospital. Briggs remains in the pediatric intensive care.
“We ask that the community and anyone who can come out and support the Ingram family. Anyone who is unable to come out can help the Ingram family by donating to the GoFundMe page titled ‘Ingram Family Warrior Fund.’ On behalf of the Ingram family we ask that everyone will continue to keep Briggs and his family in their thoughts and prayers as they go through this tough and trying time.”
