The roadway on Highway 27 in front of the Cedartown Walmart was back open this afternoon following a wreck that slowed down traffic in front of the shopping center entrance.

Cedartown Police reported that the driver of a passenger car failed to yield when they were turning left into the Walmart entrance in the turning lane on Highway 27 North, and drove right into the path of a large pickup truck that was driving south.

The two collided, and caused a traffic slowdown in front of the store entrance during the lunch hour this afternoon.

Police noted the driver of the car is likely facing a citation for the incident.

No injuries were reported that required a trip to the hospital.

Cleanup required partial closure of the roadway until around 1:30 p.m.
