ATLANTA (March 30, 2022) | Today, Senate Bill 319, sponsored by Sen. Jason Anavitarte (R – Dallas) was favorably passed by the Georgia House of Representatives.

Senate Bill 319, known as the Chairman John Meadows Act, would allow lawful weapons carriers to carry their firearms without the need of a permit.

“I am proud that the House of Representatives passed this critical legislation to protect the Second Amendment rights of Georgians,” said Sen. Anavitarte. “I want to thank Rep. Mandi Ballinger (R – Canton), Speaker David Ralston, and Public Safety Chairman Jay Collins for their leadership and assistance in ensuring this bill successfully passed the House. With this vote, Georgians are one step closer to being able to fully exercise their Constitutional rights and I look forward to this measure receiving final passage and make its way to the Governor’s desk soon.”
