Mr. Benny McClain, age 80, of Rockmart, GA, passed away Thursday, January 13, 2022.

Mr. McClain was born on July 22, 1941 in Atlanta, GA, to his parents: Clarence and Evelyn Ferguson McClain.

Benny lived the greater part of his life in Rockmart and was a graduate of Rockmart High School. Benny attended Bible Baptist Church.

He was a proud veteran of The United States Air Force.

Mr. McClain formerly worked for the Rockmart and Polk County Police Departments and also worked for The United States Post Office as a mail carrier for over 30 years, where he retired.

Benny was an avid outdoorsman, he loved to go hunting, fishing and gardening. He had a great love for his family and took care of them.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Harold Gayton.

Mr. McClain is survived by his wife, Brenda McClain of Rockmart, GA, 3 children: Amanda “Ami” Robinson (Rodney) of Cedartown, GA, Ben McClain of Rockmart, GA and Wes McClain of Rockmart, GA, 4 grandchildren: Benjamin McClain, Drew McClain, Belle McClain and Jake Robinson, brother, Carlton McClain of Cedartown, GA, sister, Janice Fuller Stephens (Mike) of Savannah, GA, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Graveside Funeral Services for Mr. Benny McClain will be held on Thursday, January 20, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Floyd Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Jason Stringer officiating and Brown-Wright Post #12 American Legion Honor Guard providing military rites.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, January 20, 2022 from 12:00 PM until 1:30 PM.
