No serious injuries were reported by Cedartown Police Chief Jamie Newsome after a loaded U-Haul slid down a driveway and right into the path of a tractor trailer this morning.
Newsome said the driver of the U-Haul was transported to the hospital with injuries, but was conscious and alert upon leaving the scene.
According the Chief, the U-Haul was loaded up and ready to move from a house along Highway 27 North across from Meadow Lakes Golf Course, and due to slick conditions and the steep driveway, slid into traffic and right into the path of an oncoming tractor trailer.
Newsome said the front engine compartment took the brunt of the impact.
Traffic southbound on Highway 27 was blocked for a while as cleanup efforts are underway, but one lane has been opened for those passing through the area.
