A driver is dead on the scene of a wreck this afternoon that involved a tractor trailer and has southbound traffic on the Highway 27 Bypass in front of the Polk County Fairgrounds blocked off.

Polk County Coroner Norman Smith said no additional details were yet available but reported that multiple vehicles were involved in the wreck.

Drivers traveling down Highway 27 are advised to detour around the area.

Another wreck involving multiple vehicles was also reported at South Main Street and Central Street in Cedartown. Using that as a detour around the wreck is not currently possible.
